Not knowing what to do anymore, the mother asked her eldest daughter first, if she would go to the snake; she rejected: "I won't go."; then she talked to the middle daughter, who also disagreed.

Не зная больше что делать, мать спросила старшую дочь, выходишь ли ты за змею мол, когда она отказалась, не выхожу мол, сказала средней и та не согласилась.

Как и вначале они жили красиво.

The eldest sister carried the boy.

Сына везла старшая дочь.

When the boy's mother asked: "Why does he cry?", she said: "He wants your scarf."

Когда его мать спросила, почему же он плачет мол, сказала, что он хочет мол твою косынку.

"He cries, because he wants that I exchange your dress with mine."

он плачет желая, чтобы мы обменивались платьями.

He is crying because he want's to have that white flower over there in the sea.

хочет белый цветок находящийся на море.

The old woman went outside and when she returned home in the evening, she found her housework neatly done and tidied up, so she was astonished, thinking: "Who has worked here at my home, while I was away?"

Старая женщина когда выходила на улицу и до ее возвращения вечером домой, она нашла хорошо сделанные по дому работы и удивилась, кто мол у меня дома в моем отсутствии трудится.

The bird was very afraid: "Now I will lose all of my nestlings!"

Птица очень боялась, что теперь мол потеряю всех своих птенцов.

On the second day, the fox came firmly and said: "Throw me down a nestling, or else I'll knock down the tree with my tail!"

Второй день тоже лиса смело пришла и сказала, или ты мне птенчик кинь или я ударом хвоста поломаю дерево.

---

"O you fool", said the crow, "Even with an axe it is almost impossible to fell such a thick pine, [how] could a fox fell it with the beat of its tail?"

Эх, ты дурак мол, сказала ворона, такую толстую сосну даже топором так легко невозможно завалить, как лиса сможет завалить ее ударом хвоста.

When the crow gave such an advice, the bird rejoiced and... [this fox didn't want to come already???].

После такого совета вороны, птица очень обрадовалась и с нетерпением ждала появление лисы.

The bird answered: "Even a human can hardly chop the tree down with an axe, how could you beat it down with your tail?"

Птица ответила, даже человек топором так легко не может завалить сосну, как ты можешь завалить ее ударом хвоста.

After that, it fed its nestling and was a good bird.

С тех пор она спокойно продолжала кормить своего птенчика.

The father didn't let them go anywhere out of the house.

Отец не пускал их дальше дома.

---

The girls were long and annoyingly asking their father: "Let us go into the forest to collect bilberries!"

Девочки долго и настырно просили отца, пусти мол нас в лес за черникой.

They were collecting bilberries in the forest and didn't notice how the time went by and it got dark.

В лесу они собирали чернику, прошло незаметно время и стемнело.

They thought they would find their own house there, so they stumbled towards that fire.

Подумали, что это их дом падая, вставая девочки пошли к огню.

---

In the morning, they waited with the girl, as she said, and before the sun set it, they got up and while they were running away, they could here the dragon's voice behind them.

До утра остались у девочки, как она сказала, встали до рассвета и когда оттуда уходили, издалека же они слышали ревы дракона, идущего за ними.

The dragon was begging the three sisters: "Help me getting over this sea!"

Дракон просил троих сестер, мол помогите мне переходить море.

---

But how much it tried to get upwards, it always glided off and came down where it was.

Как бы он не старался подниматься по этой горе, не доходя до вершины катился вниз.

The sisters, not even waiting a single breath, were running away from the dragon to get far away from it.

Сестры стремительно бежали от дракона не дожидаясь ни на минуту, стараясь как можно больше отдаляться от него.

---

Nevertheless the dragon - breaking one tree - jumped onto [another] one and cam running behind the sisters.

Тем не менее дракон поломав на своем пути одно дерево, перепрыгнув через другое бежал за сестрами.

When the forest ended at once and everything was in sight, they saw some villagers that were searching for them.

В одно время на окраине леса, когда все было на виду, они увидели сельчан, которые вышли, чтобы их искать.

After that, the girl couldn't even with force go into the forest anymore.

С тех пор девочек не возможно было даже заставить пойти в лес.

---

The next day, the father said to his daughter: "Pack provisions for one month [for me], I'm going to search a wife!" and went on his way.

На следующий день отец попросил поставить на месяц кушать, я мол иду в поисках жены, отправился в путь.

But the stepmother tortured the girl many days and threw all the work in the house and outside onto her stepdaughter.

Но эта мачеха много мучила эту девушку, все работы и домашние, и наружные оставляла делать девушке-сироте.

When one of them wanted to shoot the tree with his bow, another one stopped him saying: "Don't shoot! How do you know if there is a person?!".

Один из них хотел выстрелить из лука, но другой его остановил, откуда знать мол, может быть это человек.

The third hunter shouted: "If you are a human, say something; if you are an animal, we will shoot you with the bow!"

Третий охотник крикнул, если человек отзовись, а если дичь мы будем стрелять из лука.

When they had gone just a little further, that boy said to them: "I am going to marry this girl; did she really take me into her heart?"

Чуть дальше когда они пошли, этот юноша сказал им, я пойду заберу эту девушку, мне она очень понравилась мол.
