The bird said: "A fox has come to the tree and wanted to throw it down with a beat of his tail to take away all my nestlings, two nestlings he took, so just a single one he left for me."

Птица рассказала, что подошла к дереву лиса и напугав меня мол ударом хвоста поломаю дерево и съем все твои птенчики, отняла у меня два птенчика, оставив мне один единственный.

"O you fool", said the crow, "Even with an axe it is almost impossible to fell such a thick pine, [how] could a fox fell it with the beat of its tail?"

Эх, ты дурак мол, сказала ворона, такую толстую сосну даже топором так легко невозможно завалить, как лиса сможет завалить ее ударом хвоста.

When the crow gave such an advice, the bird rejoiced and... [this fox didn't want to come already???].

После такого совета вороны, птица очень обрадовалась и с нетерпением ждала появление лисы.

The bird answered: "Even a human can hardly chop the tree down with an axe, how could you beat it down with your tail?"

Птица ответила, даже человек топором так легко не может завалить сосну, как ты можешь завалить ее ударом хвоста.

After hearing what the bird said, the fox said: "May the mouth freeze to the one who told you that!"

Как лиса услышала что говорила птица, сказала, пусть знобит рот тому, кто это тебе рассказал.

They thought they would find their own house there, so they stumbled towards that fire.

Подумали, что это их дом падая, вставая девочки пошли к огню.

But how much it tried to get upwards, it always glided off and came down where it was.

Как бы он не старался подниматься по этой горе, не доходя до вершины катился вниз.

When the forest ended at once and everything was in sight, they saw some villagers that were searching for them.

В одно время на окраине леса, когда все было на виду, они увидели сельчан, которые вышли, чтобы их искать.

When the dragon saw the people and the village, it ran back to its own home, towards the forest.

One day she collected the clothes of herself and her mother and carrying them escaped into the forest.

When they had gone just a little further, that boy said to them: "I am going to marry this girl; did she really take me into her heart?"

Чуть дальше когда они пошли, этот юноша сказал им, я пойду заберу эту девушку, мне она очень понравилась мол.

At one point in time, the boy couldn't bear it any longer and, [saying] "I won't go, you go [alone]!", he returned, took the girl with him and went towards the village.

Через некоторое время этот юноша повернулся обратно, мол вы идите, а я без нее не пойду, забрала девушку и пошел в село.

"She doesn't even look pretty, why did you bring her?", answered him the mother as if getting angry.

Мама со злобой ответила, у нее лицо даже некрасивое, зачем ты ее привел мол.

They always kept her at the oven and dressed her in a skin.

Эту девушку они оставляли всегда возле печи и одетой в шкуре.

When the girl with the ring had disappeared from the marriage, the boy lost his cheerfulness and quickly went home and to bed.

Когда со свадьбы исчезла девушка с кольцом, у этого юноши испортилось настроение, быстро пошел домой и лежал в постели.

My heart won't hold stil until I have seen her.

Мое сердце не успокоится, пока ее не увижу мол.

The boy suddenly noticed that this ring was from the finger of that girl.

Юноша вдруг заметил, что это кольцо с пальца этой девушки.

"No, let her do it!", he insisted without accepting a compromise.

Нет, пусти ее мол, наотрез стоял сын.

When the girl came to him, the boy took off her hide-clothes and put the golden ring on her, and the boy saw that she was much more beautiful than before.

Когда она подошла к нему поближе, юноша скинул с нее одежду из шкуры, надел золотое кольцо и она выглядела еще красивей, чем прежде.

When the mother asked: "Is she the girl with the golden ring?", the boy looked at her silently and lead her into the room upstairs to let her look at the girl.

Когда мама спросила, она что ли мол та девушка с золотым кольцом, сын молча повел маму на верхний этаж, чтобы показать девушку.

The hunters were astonished that such a beautiful girl existed.

Охотники тоже удивились, что нашли такую красивую девушку.

---

After a while, that poor boy appeared[, saying]: "I will teach her how to work."

Через некоторое время появляется тот же самый бедный человек, мол я приучу ее к работе.

And he was disobedient and had a defective mind.

Он тоже был непослушный, неполноценного ума.

But her parents didn't let her go; [saying] "Why do you want to marry a stupid boy who when you say 'Open the door!', would close it, and when you say 'Sit down!', would get up? We will have to feed him as well."

Ее тоже родители не выдавали, если скажешь открой дверь, закрывающая, если скажешь садись, встающая зачем мол ты выходишь за болвана, его тоже нам придется содержать.

"No matter what happens to him, I will go to him!," the girl [said and] ran away.

Девушка была полна решимости, мол какой бы он не был выхожу за него.

His wife said: "If you teach well, even animals will listen."

Жена сына сказал, если хорошо обучать, воспитать даже животные послушаются мол.

After they disappered into the distance, they told themselves: "We will buy that stick from this boy for half of the gold on the camels; it will be such a relieve for us! [why?]", they would say(?), "Why would we be anymore sad, if, when we are thirsty, we hit it and water appears for drinking; and when we are hungry, we get food that way."

Как отошли в ту сторону, они говорили между собой, мол пол золота, находящееся на верблюде, отдадим и купим у него палку, потому что во время жажды, голода при его ударе если появится вода и еда, больше какая у нас еще беда может быть.

They sent back the eldest of them, because "the boy would listen well to him."

Они отправили обратно самого старшего из них, мол юноша хорошо будет слушаться его.

Because nothing would appear, they broke the stick, ran behin the boy wanting to return it to him for the things they had given to him.

Ничего не появилось, эту палку они переломали и побежали за юношей, чтобы вернуть то, что ему дали.

Having pulled the prettiest clothings from the camel, he gave it to the shepherd and said: "When suddenly there appear ten men with five camels, do something to detain them."

Стянул с верблюда лучшую одежду, отдал ее пастуху и сказал, если отсюда появятся десять человек и пять верблюдов, каким-нибудь образом ты их задержи.

Then the boy came to a man who was lying on his burka.

Затем он пришел к человеку, который лежал на бурке.

The merchants stopped holding the cap; he, however, went to a place were they couldn't see him, put himself on the burka and waited watching them.

Купцов оставили держать шапку и тот пошел в невидимое им место, лег на бурке и смотрел на них.

"I will give all your things back to you, if you give me back my magic wand," answered the boy them.

Я ваши вещи все возвращу вам, если вы тоже вернете мне мою волшебную палочку мол, ответил юноша.

They went to the imam and told him what had happened: "Water and food appeared where he hit the stick onto, and we exchanged camels and the goods on them against the stick, but [then] it was just a simple stick.

Пошли к имаму они рассказали о том, что было, мы верблюды с товаром поменяли ему палку, мол на том месте где его бьют появляются вода и еда, но она оказалась обычной палкой.

Afterwards we broke it out of rage and threw it away."

Потом от злости мы ее поломали.

He took it out of there and at first wanted to throw it into the water.

Вытащил его оттуда и хотел он бросать его в воду.

When she came to the door, the boy came running and invited her into the home: "Come inside!"

Когда она пришла во двор, появился юноша и пригласил ее домой.

When the princess finished drinking the water, it filled with gold and she was very surprised.

После того, как закончила пить воду, он наполнился золотом и царевна удивилась.

And the story that the princess loved a turkey herder, spread everywhere.

Этот весть, что царевна влюбилась в пастуха индюков распространилась везде и всюду.

The malicious king locked his daughter in a wooden chest and let her throw into the river.
