Aliqilich went to his father's grave every evening, spent the time there until the morning began, and went back home.

14018. Sidaquł neširu šudax yeda yałzay, roƛiquraɣor xizor šilabi yołäsi, ƛ’iri hisno raqˤäsi sis miƛ’i bayn. ⇫ ¶

One night while they were at the grave, at mighnight came a ram that had its horns backwards and accumulated whool.

14019. Yisiz babiws šudaƛ’osi ħimu yaganix biħun yedu. ⇫ ¶

It came to lick the tombstone on his father's grave.

14020. Sasaqor ħimun yagin, č’urqˤo boqno bik’in. ⇫ ¶

It licked the tombstone until the next day, and when the morning set it, it went away.

До утра лизал надгробный камень и утром ушел.

14021. Yaqˤułƛa bok’ełsi mi däqay, ɣudegon baynosi ezʷan dowƛ’o diƛin pikrun boyn, iduɣorno ik’in yeda ħadur oqno ičin. ⇫ ¶

"Today you escaped from me, but tomorrow I will see you when you come", he thought, went home and prepared oneself.

At this time the ram came and began licking the tombstone on his father's grave.

В то же время пришел баран и начал лизать надгробный камень на могиле его отца.

14024. ʕAliqiličä nełaz c’eruc’a caƛin. ⇫ ¶

Aliqilich shot with his bow.

Аликилич выстрелил в него из лука.

14025. C’eruc’a č’aq’ˤinosi, ža miƛ’i elay łuq’zin boqno boxin bok’ełno. ⇫ ¶

After the arrow hit it, the ram was wounded and tried to run away.

14026. Sasaqosi ʕAliqilič nełaz ruɣuł xizay ik’in. ⇫ ¶

The next morning, Aliqilich followed its prints.

He went behind the blood that was dripping out of the ram's wound and came into a dense forest, someplace.

While going through the forest, he came to a clearance that was in the middle of the forest.

When looking around, he didn't see anything else there than the sky that was above him.

14030. Neła baydanƛ’or aynosi, miƛ’zo iyos ruɣubin łiyn, šet’u utiƛ’oräy, yeda waħozoni dunyalƛ’orno ˤoƛ’un, sida ɣˤutkoz ƛ’ˤuƛ’ ƛ’iri c’oxno. ⇫ ¶

After he came to that plain, the ram's blood spots ended; when he turned around, he fell onto the earth/world below, and on the roof of a house.

14031. Rok’un q’ʷarid roqno ʕAliqilič ʕiyada iħun. ⇫ ¶

His heart became sad and Aliqilich started to cry.

14032. Neła ɣˤutka teł sis q’orolayn, nełas kidno zown. ⇫ ¶

Inside this house was a widow with her daughter.

В этом доме были одна вдова и ее дочь.

When the roof began to leak, the widow said to her daughter:

After she went outside, looked around, and came back, the girl told her mother that it wasn't raining.

"Mother, on the roof there is a guest with a foreign spirit, who is sad and cries."

14040. Xizyo yizä ža iduɣorno own esirno nesiq, didur šebi roqno mi t’or keze oqäƛin. ⇫ ¶

Then they let him into the house and asked him what had happened and how he came here.

14041. Yisägon šinaw raqru łinałäyn esin žedaq. ⇫ ¶

And so he told them everything about it.

14046. Łiƛa yoł eludeƛin, - yizä yizis q’ʷariłi esin, - amma nełaƛ’ ƛ’iri aždaħ baq’ˤułno bičäsi yoł. ⇫ ¶

"We have some water", they told with grief, "but a dragon is covering it."

Вода-то есть у нас мол, они рассказали о своем горе, но воду прикрывает дракон.

14047. ƛirbargon łi neƛxanusi ža aždaħ didiw biča bayxƛin, nesä ža kid łäƛ’or yegirno. ⇫ ¶

"What kind of dragon must that be that doesn't give water to a guest!", he [said and] sent the girl for water.

Какой же этот дракон, который не дает воду гостью мол, он отправил ту девушку за водой.

14048. Hudu neła mežur łi neƛxosi anaƛin? - esirno yisä neła q’orolaq. ⇫ ¶

"So he's not giving you water?", he asked the widow.

И что он вам воду не дает что ли, спросил он у этой вдовы.

14049. Neła elur łi neƛxosi, ƛˤebaxay sosit’a ela nełar yac’anix kid teƛnäy. ⇫ ¶

"He gives us water, if once a year we give him a girl to eat.

Дает он нам воду, если мы раз в году даем ему кушать девушку.

14050. Däzno uyran kidbełäy, ele howda sistow sis ƛexus. ⇫ ¶

And of my four, only this one here remained.

Вот из моих четырех дочерей, осталась одна единственная.

14051. Elus t’o raq’ˤu kidbabi łiyrsi yiła aždaħäƛin, - esin yiła. ⇫ ¶

That dragon ate up many of our daughters", she said.

14052. Łäƛ’or yäk’iru yiła kidber neł aždaħä, ƛirbar retäsi roqzaƛ’ƛin, bic’no sis tungi teƛno. ⇫ ¶

The dragon gave the girl that went to look for water a jug filled with water, because that happened to be what the guest wanted.

14053. Žan bown iduɣor nexƛ’oräy, dandir c’axru xalq’imo sida esirno, sida esirno yiłqay ħaƛanix łi. ⇫ ¶

And while coming home with it, of the people that she met one asked her, if he could drink some water from her.

С этим, когда домой шла, встретивший один из людей попросил у нее пить воду. Пока она пришла домой, там осталась вода настолько мало, что можно было только намочить губы.

14054. Idur yayzaƛ’or, elo teł hut’bi at’ik’ace gurow łi ƛexunanu. ⇫ ¶

When coming home, there was merely enough water inside to moisten one's lips with.

"I have no use for that", thought Aliqilich, took the jug and went to get water.

14056. Sosi bic’no ik’inosi, aždaħä yisiqor roži eƛinanu. ⇫ ¶

When he first filled the jug, the dragon didn't say a word to him.

Когда один раз наполнил, дракон ему ничего не сказал.

14057. Idur ayzaƛ’or sidä ħaƛun, sidä ħaƛun ža łi nesiqayn hemedurtow łiyrno. ⇫ ¶

When he went home, someone wanted to drink and another one wanted to drink, so this water was empty as well for him.

Пока он не дошел до дома один пил эту воду, потом другой, так и закончил.

14058. Hudaygon yeda łäƛ’or tungin bižin ik’in, nełaƛ’no aždaħä yisiqor roži eƛin anu. ⇫ ¶

The next day he went to get water with the jug and the dragon didn't say a word to him at that time.

На следующий день пошел он с кувшином за водой и тогда дракон ему ничего не сказал.

14059. Łox äƛiru ik’inosin, neła yisiqor xabarkin boyn anu. ⇫ ¶

Also the third time when he went, he did not say anything to him.

Третий раз тоже, когда он (Аликилич) пошел, он (дракон) с ним разговор даже не завел.

14060. Tungin bic’no nexƛ’osi, hemedurtow hunix dandir c’axru xalq’imo ħaƛun łiyra, žan lamusyoqay, dahawtow łi xecäsi zown. ⇫ ¶

Right when he came from filling the jug, the people that he met on the way drank up, and from this conscience, leaving hardly and water.

When coming home, he saw the widow with her child (at her breast), which almost died of thirst, and asked:
