Прошлогодняя пашня чужая бывает, а нынешнего года своя бывает мол.

"When we came to the edge of the village," said the father, "Akhmed asked the people that were coming towards us carrying a man to bury him: 'Has this man died last year or this year?'."

Когда пришли на край села, рассказал отец, мы встретили людей, которые шли на погребение умершего человека, и у них Ахмед спросил, этот человек умер в этом году или прошлом мол.

Тогда туда пришел один старый человек.

And the old man brought all this structure inside.

и старик все это строение складывал внутри.

Twenty years later, the old man appeared [and said]: "One sone has to be given to me!"

Через двадцать лет объявился этот старик, одного сына должен отдать мне мол.

The hunter and his wife said: "We have nothing except the two, we can't give our own children to some man!"

Охотник и жена сказали, у нас кроме двух никого нет и своих детей, чужим не дадим мол.

"Quickly, send your son after me!", [said] the old man and went on his way.

Скорей отправь за мной сына мол, и старик пошел своей дорогой.

While he was going on the way, he heard a shout: "Don't you go behind that man, he will kill you!"

Когда по дороге шел, он слышал крик, ты не иди за этим человеком, он тебя убьет мол.

When the old man let his hand into the oven in order to pull out the bread, Hussein pushed him inside.

Когда старик пустил руку в печь, чтобы вытащить хлеб, Хусейн вытолкнул его и бросил вовнутрь.

One day, while being in the forest, and old man came to the husband and asked him: "What happened to you, why are you so sad?"

Однажды в лесу к мужу подходит старик, и спросил, что с тобой случилось, почему ты грустный мол.

"If you do what I say, you will get children.", said the old man.

Если сделаете то, что я скажу, у вас родятся дети мол, сказал тот старик.

At one time, when the children had become older, the story came [to them] of the old man who gave the apples, and one boy was to be sent to him and he would wait on a spring looking for him.

Через некоторое время, когда дети стали взрослыми, от старика, который дал яблоки, пришли весть, чтобы одного сына отправили для него, и он будет ждать его у одного родника мол.

He got up and said to them: "I am going to the place that the old man had shown.", and went on his way.

Встал этот, сказал им, я пойду мол, и отправился в путь на место указанное стариком.

When he asked "Where did Hassan go to?", the parents told him: "The story was like this, that he went to that old man who had given the apple[s] to us before you were born."

Когда он спросил, куда Хусейн пошел мол, родители рассказали ему, вот так пришла весть от старика, который дал нам яблоки еще до вашего рождения, и к нему пошел.

Soon an old man appeared running towards there and without doing any greeting, he immediately asked Hussein: "What do you want - an old man's advice or silver?"

Скоро там появился один старик и сразу спросил Хусейна, что ты хочешь, совет старика или золото мол.

"Well, well!", said the old man.

Очень хорошо мол, сказал старик.

---

When the old man says to you: 'Chop firewood!', say: 'First you chop! Then I will chop.'

Если тот старик скажет тебе, руби дров мол, ты скажи сначала сам сруби, потом я тоже буду рубить мол.

Hussein thanked the old man and went on his way.

Старика поблагодарил, Хусейн пошел своей дорогой.

---

Hussein went on and came to the old man who brought his father a letter.

Хусейн пришел к старику, который послал отцу письмо.

---

Because he found the old man chopping firewood, Hussein said: "I am very tired, you hack today's [wood]!"

Старик рубил дрова и поэтому Хусейн сказал, я очень уставший, сегодня сам руби мол.

He heard a person's groaning from another small room and looked; there Hussein saw a beautiful girl tied to a big chain.

Услышав человеческое стенание из другой комнаты, Хусейн посмотрел и видел одну красивую девушку, привязанную к цепи.

"What are you doing here?", he asked, "The old man had brought me here forcibly.

Он спросил, что ты тут делаешь мол. Она ответила, старик насильно потащил меня сюда.

He went and went and came to the old man who had sent the letter to his father.

Пошел он и пришел к старику, который послал письмо отцу.

---

There was a rich man.

Был, говорят, один богатый человек.

---

He had only two relatives remaining, the father's brother and his daughter, his cousin.

У него были только двое родственников, брат отца и его дочь, его (сына) двоюродная сестра.

The father's brother was a rich man.

Дядя был богатым человеком.

Now that boy, because there was no close person to him to relieve his sorrow a bit more, he told his cousin everything that has happened and said: "Today is my last day.

Потом этот юноша все поведал кузине, так как не было другого более близкого человека, чтобы мог делиться горем, и сказал, сегодня остался мой последний день.

В таком случае, сказала жена, я тебе дам отсюда четыре рубля и ты должен пойти к некоторому человеку, чтобы взять у него совет.

When he came to the old man who was to teach the advice, he found him reciting religious chants.

Когда он пришел к старику-советчику и нашел его за чтением зикр.

The old man was a sheikh who knew everything.

Старик был шейхом, который знал все.

When that old man came home, he showed him much time(?) and asked: "My son, what is it that you need, and why don't you tell me what you have necessary?"

Этот старый человек долго заставил его ждать дома и спросил, мой сын, с какой целью ты пришел, почему не рассказываешь о своих надобностях мол.

So tell me what you have to tell!", said the old man.

Тем не менее ты скажи, что тебе нужно мол, спросил старик.

---

"My son," said the old man, "the price of an advice is one ruble."

Мой сын, сказал старик, один совет стоит один рубль мол.

The old man knew what he thought.

Старый человек знает то, что у него на сердце.

---

The boy noticed that the old man found out what he thought.

Юноша почуял, что старик знает то, о чем он думает.

---

Again, the boy gave him the third ruble and said to the old man: "Give me an advice!"

Еще раз юноша отдал третий рубль и попросил старика, чтобы тот дал ему совет.

When the boy insisted: "Give me another advice!", the old man said the advice that way: "When you go on your way, the remaining ruble will become necessary for you. Anything evil that might be done should be moved aside, and patience should be pushed forward."

Когда юноша настаивал, чтобы ему дал еще один совет, старик дал ему совет задаром, оставшийся рубль тебе пригодится по дроге мол, сколько бы ты много не знал, злобу отодвинь назад, а терпение продвигай вперед мол.

Now the man let the boy go: "Go on your way!"

Затем проводил он того юношу, мол иди своей дорогой.

So while he was at the edge of the river, a man riding on a horse appeared.

Он стоял на берегу реки и вдруг на коне появился один человек.

Before they reached the middle, the horse and the proud man on it got stuck in that muddy river, and it pulled them downward.

Не дошли они до середины реки, коня вместе с этим высокомерным человеком мутная река перевернула и унесла оттуда вниз.

After some time, the horse appeared on the surface, but no one knew where the man was.

Через некоторое время конь появился наверх, а тот человек исчез не известно куда.

He said: "Because you sticked to an old man's advice, God himself has rescued you!"

Он сказал, вот ты придержался совету старика, и сам Аллах защитил тебя.

The hero said: "Now I am a dying man.

Храбрец сказал, теперь я человек умерший.

---

They were looking for firewood and under the brushwood which was around there, the Georgians heard a man's groaning.

Они искали дрова, чтобы зажечь огонь, и из-под хворостей грузины услышали человеческое стенание.

After a while Razhbadin became like a member of his own family.

Через некоторое время Ражбадин становится как его член семьи.

When he came to the edge of his own village, Razhbadin met an old man.

Пришел на окраину своего села и Ражбадин встретил старика.

The old man greeted him and asked him: "Do you have a comrade here?"

Старый человек ответил на приветствие и спросил, имеешь ли ты здесь кунака мол.

The old man said: "While he went to Georgia for prey, the Georgians have killed him."

Старик сказал, его убили грузины, когда он в поисках добычи был в Грузии.

He asked: "Does anyone live at his home?"

Он спросил, живет ли кто-нибудь у него дома мол.
