Once upon a long time ago in the Tsetlo village there was a hero who went by the name of "Razhbadin".

One day Razhbadin said to Tavadi: "My family, children and relatives are in the village.

When Razhbadin came with the horses, Tavadi filled two of the horses with presents for his wife and children, put the hero on the third horse and they gave each other a hug and at midnight he sent him onto his way to the village.

After some time, a little noise got up that Razhbadin had run away, and he left.

When he came to the edge of his own village, Razhbadin met an old man.

"Very good", she thought, came outside and took the articles off the horse and thought: "He looks like Razhbadin."

There she became suspicious and went to his brothers, [saying] "He can't be Razhbadin by any chance, we made the funeral ceremony."

Immediately when they came home, they knew it was Razhbadin, they didn't let each other out of the arms again for a long time.

Razhbadin took the girl's word from the father, got happy and while he went home, he told his brother whom he met, that the father agreed.

There, Razhbadin said to the young people: "Gather the girls from the village on some place!

Razhbadin's friends gathered the village's girls in one place somewhere, thrashed the zurna, beated the drum and danced.

Друзья Ражбадина собрали девушек села в одно место, играли на зурне, били в барабан и танцевали.

Then, according to what Razhbadin had said, the reliable young people gathered all girls of the village, including the bride.

Затем еще раз по просьбе Ражбадина его надежные люди собрали всех женщин, включая невесту.

While Tavadi was looking carefully, one boy hit the bride that was to marry Razhbadin with a stick and took her away to dance.

Not too much time has passed since they had left, and the girl gave Razhbadin the letter that Tavadi had written.

After he had read the letter, Razhbadin wondered in surprise: "What happened to me?"

After quite a long time has passed, a letter from Tavadi came to Razhbadin: "Come to Telavi on a certain day and bring your new wife; we are preparing the marriage of my son who came from finishing his studies in Tbilisi."

Soon after that Razhbadin and his wife went to Telavi with presents for Tavadi's son.

"I won't bother my parents", he [thought and] went into the room where they were being, and came to the mattress where Razhbadin's wife was sleeping, thinking it's his mother.

At some point in time, Razhbadin woke up from his sleep.

Razhbadin had several ideas: "This friend of mine tricked me and invited me to a so-called marriage, in order to let another man sleep with my wife."

Without thinking too much, Razhbadin got up, took his dagger and cut the man whom he found sleeping with his wife to pieces.

From there, Razhbadin went up to Tavadi and scolded him: "What is that thing you did to me, inviting me to a marriage?!"

Tavadi convinced Razhbadin: "I would not have he idea to do such a mean thing to you, I haven't done anything."

Then he said to Razhbadin: "This happened by accident, what shall we do?"

Потом он сказал Ражбадину: «Что же теперь делать, ведь все произошло нечаянно.

Razhbadin became very sad: "What happened to me?"

Ражбадин сильно огорчился, что же это, мол я сделал.

"Nevertheless there's no amulet to do anything about what has happened by accident.", Razhbadin said and took his wife with him to the village.

Тем не менее, нет средства поправить то, что произошло непреднамеренно, и Ражбадин со своей женой уехали в село.

Five or six months afterwards, Tavadi wrote a letter and sent it to Razhbadin: "Friend Razhbadin, this unnecessary thing has happened between us.

Прошло с тех пор пять-шесть месяцев и Тавади отправляет Ражбадину письмо: «Друг Ражбадин, между нами произошел тяжелый случай.

When the letter arrived, Razhbadin called his three sons and read it out to them.

In that letter Razhbadin was asking Tavadi: "Forgive me what has happened, don't destroy the cordiality and friendship that are between us; I am sending you my three sons instead of your son, I permit you their blood."

В том письме Ражбадин просил Тавади: «Прости меня за все то, что произошло, не теряй дружбу и теплоту, которые были между нами. А я вместо одного твоего сына отправляю к тебе троих сыновей с правом лишить их жизни».

The young people of the village were blaming Razhbadin for sending his children for them to get killed, whereas he, however, choose friendship.

Instead of killing Razhbadin's children, Tavadi sent them to study in Tbilisi where his son was, and explained to them: "Don't write a letter to your parents without my permission!"

Five or six years went by and Razhbadin's children finished their studying and came to Tavadi.
