Once upon a time there lived a father and his three sons in a village.

60002. Exa adäza babiya užizaqor wasi bodin, were, dey xexbi, di exunosi, šibaw ruzman ɣudƛ’o däz šudaƛ’orno nexno meža q’ulhut’a t’et’roƛin. ⇫ ¶

Before he died, the father did his testament: "Well, my children, after I have died, come to my grave every Friday and read a funeral prayer each time."

Перед смертью отец завещал детям: «Смотрите, дети мои, после моей смерти приходите каждую пятницу ко мне на могилу, и читайте молитву».

60003. Nełƛ’osi baq’ˤu zaman bik’izaƛ’ortow žedus babiw exun. ⇫ ¶

Before much time had passed after that, their father died.

С тех пор много времени не прошло, как их отец умер.

60004. Bežet’ani esnabi babiwz šudaƛ’or baħnaynanuƛax. ⇫ ¶

The older brothers, so it's said, did not walk to their father's grave.

Старшие братья, говорят, не ходили к отцу на могилу.

60005. Eɣeni esiw yołi, šibaw ruzman ɣudƛ’ot’a babiwz šudaƛ’or ik’ix zown. ⇫ ¶

The younger brother, however, went to his fathers grave every Friday.

А младший брат ходил на могилу отца каждую пятницу.

60006. Sida quł yisir šudaƛ’or gulun bayäsi besun, ža elay xizor boxira oqno. ⇫ ¶

One day he found a horse that had come onto the grave, and he began to chase it away.

Однажды он увидел на могиле коня и пытался его оттуда прогнать.

60007. Insanzo mecrexorno xabaryayn neła eƛin, mi di t’äy boxärno, däz maħiłäy łˤono musno bet’urno iduɣor ik’i, debeƛ’ ɣudi rayza quł žedu rik’urnosi, debez ħalarno nexno boqxosi kumak bodanƛin. ⇫ ¶

It talked in human language and said: "Don't chase me away from here; pull out three hairs from my tail and go home; on a day that you are in trouble, after you burned them, I will help you to regain your strength."

Тот заговорил человеческим голосом и сказал: «Не прогоняй меня отсюда, вырви три волоса из моего хвоста и иди домой. Когда тебе будет тяжело, сожги их, и я приду поддержать тебя и окажу посильную помощь».

60008. Gulun howlo xecin, nełaz maħiłäy baɣruni łˤono musno butirno k’ukya tełxor eqerno, babiwz šudaƛ’ q’ulhun begirno, uži iduɣor ik’in. ⇫ ¶

The horse left and the boy gathered the three hairs he took out of its tail and put them inside his cap, then he spoke the funeral prayer on his father's grave and went home.

Отпустил он коня, три волоса из его хвоста завернул и положил в шапку, прочитал молитву на могиле отца и пошел домой.

60009. Hemeła zamanał ʕaƛa xabar boƛixno, qalamez ƛ’ˤuƛ’or gulun bizirno, elay kid yok’ek’a k’ʷeze yaqru žek’ux xanä ža yegirxoƛin. ⇫ ¶

At some time, a rumor appeared in the village: The king would marry off his daughter to the man who is able to lift a horse onto the roof of his fortress and to steal his daughter from there.

В это время по селу пошла молва, что хан выдает свою дочь за того, кто сможет поднять коня на крышу крепости и похитить ее.

60010. Nesis łˤono kid zown. ⇫ ¶

He had three daughters.

У него были три дочери.

60011. Žedaƛ’or ʕišq’un erno yisis bežet’ani esnabi žeda žeduz ʕomoyzaƛ’no zown ɣudes elor baħnayx zown. ⇫ ¶

His older brothers fell in love with them and rode to there every day on their donkeys.

Его старшие братья влюбились в них и каждый день ездили туда на своих ослах.

60012. Gulukin bizanix zaħmataw qalamzo ƛ’ˤuƛ’or, ʕomoybigon nay žeduq elo ƛ’irir rizix. ⇫ ¶

But it's difficult for a horse to get up the fortress' roof, but the donkeys they could get on it.

Но как они могли поднять ослов на крышу крепости, тогда как туда коню трудно подниматься?!

60013. Hemedur, ɣudƛ’ay ɣudƛ’or xanes kidbabi riqaniqaysi q’ˤanon esnabi rok’u roč’iłxo xizo-q’ˤimer butix iduɣort’a nexxo zown. ⇫ ¶

So day in and day out, the two brothers lost the hope of stealing the king's daughters and

Таким образом, день за днем оба брата теряли надежду на дочерей хана и с разочарованием возвращались домой.

60014. Eɣeni esiya, när meži bik’äsi zowäƛin žeduq esirłin, žeda esix zownanu, ža debi iš anu, ħažat anuru šebin eluq esärnoƛin. ⇫ ¶

Although the younger brother asked them: "Where are you going?", they didn't tell him [but said]: "It's not your business, don't ask us unnecessary things!"

Когда младший брат спрашивал, куда они ходили, братья не рассказывали: «Это не твое дело и не спрашивай у нас напрасно».

60015. Xizaɣor eɣeni esiwr riyn, esnabi bik’ixosi moči. ⇫ ¶

In the end the younger brother knew the place his brothers were going to.

Наконец, младший брат узнал, куда ходят его братья.

60016. Yisiz rok’ƛ’or rayn, k’ukya teł ruqˤno xecin zawruni gulus musrebi. ⇫ ¶

He remembered the horse's hairs that he had hidden inside his cap.

Он вспомнил о конских волосах, которые хранил в шапке.

60017. Bežet’ani q’ˤanon esnabi iday maħor boqnosi, yisä łˤonon mus bik’urno. ⇫ ¶

When the two older brothers went outside the house, he burnt the three hairs.

Когда оба старших брата вышли из дому на улицу, он сжег три волоса.

60018. Łˤonon gulubi rayn adäza ričin aluk’an, qˤaban, c’udan. ⇫ ¶

Three horses came and waited in front [of him], a white one, a black one and a red one.

Перед ним оказались три коня: белый, черный и красный.

60019. Łˤoraƛ’no ƛ’iri mesedyos ƛ’ili-q’ayn, xizazagon yaraɣyosno, šeƛ’u-bˤoƛ’oresno ric’no kuräsi ħurženyabin yołƛax. ⇫ ¶

On the three of them were golden saddles and on their backs were thrown bags filled with weapons and clothes,

На всех трех конях были золотые седла, а позади на спине висели чересседельные сумки, полные оружия и одежды.

60020. Aluk’anin, qˤabanin q’ˤanon gulubi rečuƛ ruqˤno xecinƛax. ⇫ ¶

The white and the black horses he left hidden in the cattle-shed.

Двух коней, белого и черного, спрятал в хлеву.

60021. C’udani guluƛ’no zown, c’udagon šeƛ’un šeƛ’un, yaraɣno koyä bisno yeda xanzo qalamqaɣor ik’in. ⇫ ¶

The red one he rode, put on red clothes, took a weapon in his hand and rode to the king's fortress.

Сел на красного коня, оделся в красную одежду, взял оружие и отправился к крепости хана.

60022. Roƛik’u huni bežet’ani esnazaq xizor ƛexuzaƛ’ortow, yeda xizayn ayn biqirno žedu, hudun yizir yeda iynanuƛax. ⇫ ¶

Before half the way remained for the older brothers, he came from behind and overtook them, nevertheless they didn't recognize him.

Пока старшие братья не прошли половину дороги, он догнал их, но они его не узнали.

60023. Ħayran boqno ƛexun yizi, necetow iƛi-šeƛ’asi šebi yeda iča ayxƛin. ⇫ ¶

They were surprised about who he might be, being dressed like this.

Они удивились, кто, мол, это так роскошно одетый?

60024. Bayruntow yisis gulu qalamzo ƛ’ˤuƛ’orno bet’un k’oƛin, elay hič’č’a yeɣeni xanes kidno yok’ek’no iduɣor nexno. ⇫ ¶

Right after it arrived, his horse jumped onto the fortress' roof and from there he stole the youngest daughter of the king and came home.

Когда приехал, его конь прыгнул на крышу крепости, младший брат похитил самую младшую дочь хана и вернулся домой.

60025. Gulun rečuƛ bicin, ža kidno q’ˤuya ɣˤutka teł yuqˤno, esnabi bayaniqor idu ezun ičäsi zown. ⇫ ¶

He tied the horse into the shed, hid the girl in another room and waited at home for his brothers to come.

Привязал коня в хлеву, ту девушку спрятал в другой комнате, а сам ждал прихода братьев.

60026. Neširu bežet’ani esnabi q’ʷarid boqno biłe baynosi, yisä esirno, šebi mežur roqno hemecetow pašman boqa keze boqnäy, šebi necetow beže q’ʷariłi mežuƛ’or bayäsiƛin. ⇫ ¶

In the evening, when the brothers came looking sad, he asked: "What happened to you that you became so sad? What a big sadness has come upon you!"

К вечеру, когда старшие братья пришли огорченные, он спросил: «Что с вами случилось, чтобы вы так печальны, какое горе вас постигло?»

60027. Debi iš anu žaƛin, bežet’ani esnabi bixzin boqno xabaryayn yisiqor rok’ƛ’osi murad t’ubazi boqinč’izaƛ’. ⇫ ¶

"That's not your business.", said the older brothers angrily because their hearts' desire was not fulfilled.

«Это не твое дело», - с озлоблением разговаривали с ним старшие братья из-за того, что они не достигли своей цели.

60028. Neła quł sasaqosigon esnabi madaħor boqnosi, eɣeni esiw qˤabani guluƛ’no zown, q’ˤuya šeƛ’un šeƛ’un, yaraɣno lagiqor kurno ik’in. ⇫ ¶

The next morning when the brothers went outside, the young brother rode the black horse, put on different clothes, threw a weapon around his body and rode off.

Когда на следующий день братья пошли туда же, младший брат сел на черного коня, переоделся в другую одежду, накинул на себя оружие и пошел.

60029. Hemedurtow xanes yoƛƛosini kidno qalamäy yoɣno, xizor utin iduɣor nexno. ⇫ ¶

In the same way he took the king's middle daughter from the fortress and came back home.

Таким же образом среднюю дочь хана похитил из крепости и вернулся обратно домой.

60030. Yeɣeni esiwde sadaq žan yuqˤno, gulun rečuƛ bicin, bežet’ani esnabi bayaniqor idu ezun ičäsi zown. ⇫ ¶

He hid her together with her younger sister, tied the horse to the shed, and waited at home for his older brothers to come.

Спрятал ее с младшей сестрой, привязал коня в хлеву и ждал прихода старших братьев.

60031. Neła qułno yizi esnabi q’ʷarid boqno bayn, sistow sis kid xanes hoboy ƛexus, žakin yiqixana elułäy sidernoƛin. ⇫ ¶

And the next day, the brothers came home sad: "One single daughter of the king remain's now, and just one of us will get her."

В тот день братья опять пришли печальные, теперь осталась одна единственная дочь хана, хотя бы она, мол, досталась одному из них.

60032. Łˤono äƛiru ɣudƛ’ogon č’urqˤotown q’ˤanon bežet’ani esnabi hunix boqno, yaqˤułgon yiqixana eluq yok’ek’anix sistow sis ƛäxuruni xanes kidƛin. ⇫ ¶

The third day then, in the morning, the two older brothers went on their way: "Today we might succeed in stealing the single remaining daughter from the king."

На третий день рано утром оба старших брата отправились в путь, не будет ли, мол, сегодня у них возможности похитить оставшуюся одну единственную дочь хана.

60033. Žeduł xizay iłetowgon q’ˤuya šeƛ’un šeƛ’un, aluk’a guluƛ’no zown eɣeni esiw maħor oqno. ⇫ ¶

But behind them rode the younger brother, dressed in different clothings on the white horse.

Младший брат сел на белого коня, переоделся в другую одежду и вышел вслед за ними.

60034. Žigoƛ’aygon xanes yeženi kidno yok’ek’no, xizor utin idur bežet’ani esnazaƛ’ay ader ayn. ⇫ ¶

And now he stole the king's oldest daughter and returned home before his older brothers.

На этот раз он похитил старшую дочь хана и вернулся обратно домой раньше, чем старшие братья.

60035. Žan hemedurtow nełaz esnazaden yuqˤno, šeƛ’un nesä nesis šeƛ’un, gulun rečuƛ buqˤno, idu q’ˤidan ičin žedu bayaniqor ezun ičäsi zown. ⇫ ¶

He likewise hid her next to her sisters, put on his own clothes, hid the horse in the shed, sat down at home and waited for them to come.

Ее тоже спрятал со своими сестрами, переоделся в свою одежду, завел коня в хлев, сидел дома и ждал, когда они придут.

60036. Bežet’ani esnabi baynosi, yisä yiziq esin, žedu łˤonon gulun dey zows, žedu łˤonon xanes kidbabin qalamzo ƛ’ˤuƛ’azan roɣno rok’ek’no di rowsƛin. ⇫ ¶

When the older brothers came home, he told them: "These three horses are mine, and these three daughters of the king I stole from the roof of the fortress and brought them here."

Когда пришли старшие братья, он им рассказал: «Все эти три коня были моими, и всех этих трех сестер с крыши крепости я похитил и привез».

60037. Žedu bužzi boqnoanu, mi iłeni łaciraqa xanes kidbabi rawnč’i, nediwt’a gulubi yołi nay deber riqixƛin. ⇫ ¶

They didn't believe him: "A light-headed person like you wouldn't bring the king's daughters, however, where did you get such horses from?"

Но они не поверили: «Подобные тебе болтуны не привозят дочерей хана, и откуда у тебя такие кони?!»

60038. ƛa beza bik’anƛin yisä esnabi gulubi rukaranix bižin, xizyogon xanes kidbabi ruqˤno zawruni iduɣor bižin, ele žedu łˤonon kidbabi ent’o yołƛin. ⇫ ¶

"Come, we'll go looking.", and he led his brothers to show them the horses, and then he led them to the room where he was hiding the king's daughters, "So here are the three daughters."

«Пойдемте, посмотрим», - он повел своих братьев показать коней, затем они пошли в комнату, где были спрятаны дочери хана: «Вот все эти девушки прячутся здесь».

60039. Ħayran boqno ƛexun bežet’ani esnabi, nay yedu deber gulubi riqäƛin esirno. ⇫ ¶

The older brothers were astonished and asked: "From where did you get these horses?"

Старшие братья были удивлены и спросили: «Откуда ты достал этих коней?»

60040. Yisä kinaw šebinon esin, q’ˤunan esnazar gulubi sayɣat rodin. ⇫ ¶

He told everything and gave his two brothers horses as a present.

Он рассказал о том, что произошло, и обоим братьям подарил коней.

60041. Eženi esiwr yeženi xanes kidno teƛno, oƛozonirgon yoƛosin teƛno, c’udani gulun, yeɣenigon kidno nesä nesir xecin. ⇫ ¶

To the older brother he gave the older daughter of the king, to the middle he gave the middle, and the red horse and the youngest daughter he left for himself.

Старшему брату отдал старшую дочь хана, среднему отдал среднюю дочь, а красного коня и младшую дочь оставил себе.

60042. C’aq’ maʕdinay, ozäy ozuri boɣxanusi yiłe šebin zown ža. ⇫ ¶

She was very lovely and one couldn't take one's eye off of hers.

Она была настолько красивой, что невозможно было свести с нее газ.

60043. Radiru rigłin riynč’ey, bežet’ani esnaza daʕba bodin, hič’č’a bercinaw kid deber šida yiča yayxƛin. ⇫ ¶

The other brothers didn't know what good he had done, and began to argue: "Why must the most beautiful girl be for you?"

Старшие братья не оценили сделанного им добра и начали спорить, почему, мол, самая красивая девушка должна принадлежать младшему брату.

The two older brothers thought about playing a trick on him.

Оба старших брата замыслили устроить ему западню.

60045. Neširu yeda kecäsi yałzay, ac-madał adäza tełxor gondun yič’in, ƛ’irirgon bixno rayrno, yukayxanuzo ħalał yuqˤek’no ža. ⇫ ¶

At night, while he was sleeping, they dug a hole in front of the door, brought hay above it and shut it, so it could hardly be seen.

60046. Sasaqosi maħor oqƛ’oräy, eɣeni esiw gondaɣor ʕoƛ’un. ⇫ ¶

In the morning when he went outside, the young brother fell into the hole.

Когда утром младший брат хотел выйти на улицу, он упал в яму.

60047. Soder iziłinč’ey hemedur yeda yałzay, aki riłe moči nesir elo besun. ⇫ ¶
